Dear Wikimedians,

We are excited to announce the upcoming Regional European Affiliates
Transition Event, taking place virtually on 14 November 2020, from
11:30-15:30 UTC.[1]

This event follows up on the Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy
Recommendations and will focus on preparing the Affiliates from Europe for
the upcoming global strategy events[2], discussing which needs are most
prevalent within Europe, and how we as Europeans can contribute to the
global implementation.

Participation is limited to 2 representatives from each Affiliate that is
based in or mainly operates within Europe. Please sign up on the meta page
before 11 November if you plan to attend.[3]

The event will be organised and hosted by Wikimedia Österreich, Wikimedia
Deutschland, and Wikimedia Nederland. We are currently preparing the agenda
and structure of the meeting and will send around more details on how to
participate soon. The meeting will be held in English.

To be able to use the time of the meeting in the most effective way, we ask
you to fill this survey to determine priorities before 8 November end of
day.[4]

We are very much looking forward to reconnecting with friends from Europe
and taking the next steps for our movement to become more equitable and
sustainable.

Best wishes,
Alice Wiegand, Wikimedia Deutschland
Jan-Bart de Vreede, Wikimedia Nederland
Philip Kopetzki, Wikimedia Österreich
