I have an even simpler answer for that: to get more technical support
for the WMF for our wikis. The simple fact that, as Balazs said, we do
not share the same language makes us vulnerable to going into the
"others" category - as a matter of fact, right now only pl.wp can say
that it isn't in this category.

If we can highlight our shared problems I feel that we could get
better traction with the Foundation's technical team.
